Taught in the order the work happens
Every module follows one show through the five stages of corporate audio: advance, load-in, system check, show operation, strike and handoff.
From a working senior A1
"From the field" notes throughout show how the work is actually done on show day: the people, the plan, and the calls.
Use it on your next show
A workbook for every module, with worksheets, checklists and a scenario to work through, plus a capstone show and a 30-day field challenge.
About the course
AV Audio Operator is for audio technicians moving into corporate events, A2s stepping up to the A1 chair, AV generalists handed the console on show day, and production companies that want one standard in the audio seat. You will learn to advance a show from a standard input template, build and prove the system, rehearse from the show caller's calls, run the show while mixing the room and every feed, recover calmly when something fails, and close out cleanly with the person who hired you. Each lesson is a short video with the workbook open beside it. Buy once, go at your own pace, and the site remembers where you left off.
Your instructor: Paul Caccamo
Senior A1 / A2 audio engineer and production manager with more than 24 years in live production. Paul works for production companies and agencies on keynotes, general sessions and live experiences worldwide. This course is the workflow he uses on corporate shows, from the pre-production call to the invoice.

Frequently asked questions
WHO IS THIS COURSE FOR? Audio technicians moving into corporate events, A2s stepping up to the A1 chair, AV generalists who get handed the audio console on show day, and production companies that want one standard in the audio seat. DO I NEED EXPERIENCE FIRST? You should already be comfortable on a mixing console. The course does not teach audio fundamentals; it teaches the corporate-show workflow: how the advance, load-in, system check, show and strike actually run, and what the A1 is expected to do at each stage. WHICH CONSOLES AND EQUIPMENT DOES IT COVER? It isn't tied to one brand. The workflow applies to any digital console, wireless system or playback setup. Where specific tools come up, such as RF coordination software or playback computers, they are examples of how the job is done, not product tutorials. HOW LONG IS THE COURSE? 72 short lessons of one to two minutes each, a workbook for every module, and a capstone show to plan and run on paper. Go at your own pace; most of your time goes into the workbooks, the scenarios and the capstone. HOW LONG DO I HAVE ACCESS? There is no time limit on your access. Buy once and come back to it whenever you need it. CAN I DOWNLOAD THE MATERIALS? Yes, the workbooks, the Course Guide, the capstone brief and learner workbook, and the 30-day field challenge are PDFs you can download, print, and fill in. The videos stream on the course site. CAN I WATCH ON MY PHONE? Yes. The course works in any modern browser on a computer, tablet or phone. Every video shows its narration as on-screen captions, so you can follow along with the sound off. DO I GET A CERTIFICATE? Yes. When you complete every lesson, including the capstone, your certificate of completion is issued automatically with your name, the date and a unique certificate ID. Lessons open in order, so the certificate is earned by finishing the course. It confirms that you completed this course. It is not an industry licence or accreditation. IS THE COURSE ACCREDITED OR AFFILIATED WITH A MANUFACTURER? No. AV Audio Operator is an independent course from Paul Caccamo Productions Inc. It is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, any manufacturer, venue or industry body. HOW MUCH IS IT, AND IN WHAT CURRENCY? One payment in US dollars. The launch price is US$147 (regular price US$197). Sales tax, GST or HST may be added at checkout depending on where you live. CAN MY COMPANY BUY IT FOR A TEAM? Yes. Email [email protected] with how many people need access and we will set it up. WHAT IS THE REFUND POLICY? The course comes with a 14-day money-back guarantee. If it is not right for you, email [email protected] within 14 days of your purchase for a full refund. The guarantee applies if you have completed less than 25% of the lessons. WHAT IF I HAVE A QUESTION DURING THE COURSE? Email [email protected]. Questions about the course material are answered by email. WILL THE COURSE BE UPDATED? Yes. When lessons or workbooks are improved, you get the updated version at no extra cost.
